RivalBet is a new addition to the Canadian online casino market in 2026, targeting players outside Ontario [fact:domain-registered-2026-06-27][fact:not-agco-registered]. This page walks through the sign-up flow the way we actually map it: five ordered steps, the exact KYC documents you will be asked to upload, a provincial ID matrix covering every province and territory we serve, and honest benchmark timings for how long verification takes at peer Kahnawà:ke-facing operators such as Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Ruby Fortune and Spin Casino [BENCHMARK-PEER]. RivalBet.ca is not available to Ontario residents — the operator is not registered with iGaming Ontario, and AGCO Standard 2.05 restricts offshore-brand affiliate marketing in that province [fact:not-agco-registered][fact:ontario-igaming-agco-only][fact:agco-standard-2-05]. Everything below is a written guide to what to expect at the cashier; the actual account creation happens on the operator’s side. For a wider read of how we scored the brand, see our RivalBet 4.4/5 rating overview [fact:editorial-rating-4-4].

Before You Start — Eligibility
Sign-up is only worth starting if you clear three eligibility checks in this order. The first two are hard gates the operator’s form will enforce; the third saves you a resubmission later.
- You are outside Ontario. RivalBet does not accept Ontario players. Ontario iGaming runs exclusively via AGCO and iGaming Ontario, and offshore-only brands are not admitted [fact:not-agco-registered][fact:ontario-igaming-agco-only]. If you live in Ontario, close this page and use an AGCO-registered operator instead.
- You meet the provincial minimum age. The legal gambling age is 19 in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut, and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec [fact:provincial-age-limits][fact:age-19-plus-mostly]. The signup form asks for a date of birth; the operator’s back-end cross-checks against the province you select.
- You have KYC documents ready. A government photo ID and a proof-of-address document dated within the last 90 days will be requested before your first withdrawal. You do not need them at signup, but having them ready shortens the gap between depositing and cashing out [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard][BENCHMARK-PEER]. A Canadian SIN is not part of the KYC set — if any page or agent asks for it, treat it as a phishing red flag [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard].
There is no hidden fourth gate. If you clear those three, you are through the eligibility stage.
The 5 Steps
The RivalBet signup mirrors the pattern we see across Kahnawà:ke-framework Canadian peers — the same five field-groups arrive in the same order, and the whole form takes roughly three minutes if you type at a normal pace [BENCHMARK-PEER][SIMULATED].
Step 1 — Email and password
You will be asked for an email address (the one you will receive the verification link on) and a password. A strong password mixes upper-case, lower-case, digits and one symbol at minimum. Use a password manager if you have one; the account will guard access to your cashier balance, and every peer operator we benchmark against will lock the account after several failed login attempts [BENCHMARK-PEER].
Step 2 — Geo-check, full name and date of birth
This is where the Ontario gate is enforced explicitly. The form will ask you to confirm you are outside Ontario before it proceeds — this is the operator’s frontline compliance check, not a T&C footnote [fact:bench-ontario-exclusion-first-fold]. Enter your legal full name exactly as it appears on the photo ID you plan to upload later (a mismatch is the most common reason for KYC resubmission — see the rejection section below).
Your date of birth drives the age-gate: 18 for Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec residents; 19 for the rest of the country [fact:provincial-age-limits][fact:age-19-plus-mostly]. Enter it as day / month / year (en-CA convention). If you are under the applicable age for your province, the form will not proceed.
Step 3 — Province of residence and currency (CAD, locked)
Select your province from the drop-down. Ontario is not selectable — that is the compliance mechanism, and it is deliberate [fact:not-agco-registered]. The account currency defaults to CAD (rendered C$), which is the standard for CA-facing operators in the peer set (Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Ruby Fortune, Spin Casino) and avoids FX conversion at the cashier [fact:bench-native-currency-cad][BENCHMARK-PEER]. You will not see USD, EUR or a crypto option — that is expected under the Kahnawà:ke-facing framework we benchmark against [fact:bench-no-crypto-under-kgc][BENCHMARK-PEER].
Step 4 — Address, phone and privacy consent
The form asks for a Canadian street address (used for proof-of-address matching at KYC), a mobile phone number (used for account recovery and, later, for step-up authentication when you deposit via Interac), and confirmation that you have read the operator’s privacy notice. Personal information handled by RivalBet.ca falls under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — see our PIPEDA notice for affiliate analytics for how we handle affiliate-side analytics data, and the operator’s own privacy page for how they handle cashier and KYC data.
Give the address exactly as it will appear on the proof-of-address document you plan to upload — abbreviations, apartment numbers and postal-code formatting all need to match. A one-character mismatch is enough to trigger a resubmission.
Step 5 — Promo code, terms, RG and CASL consent
The final block combines four small confirmations:
- Promo code field: enter
RIVAL2026here to link the welcome offer to your account [fact:mockup-promo-rival2026]. The promo is applied at signup, not at the cashier — if you skip it now and try to add it after your first deposit, the operator’s cashier usually will not backfill the bonus. We cover the mechanics separately in the welcome bonus terms before you sign up and in how to apply RIVAL2026 at signup here [fact:mockup-welcome-100pct-1500-100fs][BENCHMARK-PEER]. - Terms & Conditions acknowledgement: a required tick-box that confirms you have read the operator’s T&C. It is worth actually reading the bonus wagering section; the multiplier, expiry and game-contribution matrix are not published on our page (they are the operator’s to disclose in T&C).
- Responsible gambling acknowledgement: a required tick-box confirming you understand the operator’s RG tools. Deposit and loss limits, session reminders, cool-off and self-exclusion are the expected minimum under the Kahnawà:ke framework [fact:bench-rg-tools-standard][BENCHMARK-PEER].
- CASL marketing consent (optional, opt-in only): a separate, non-pre-ticked checkbox. This is Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation baseline — commercial promotional email requires express consent at sign-up, cannot be pre-checked, and must include a working unsubscribe link in every message the operator sends. You can leave this un-ticked and still register; leaving it ticked opts you into the operator’s promo emails, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link. Suggested wording matches CASL practice: “I consent to receiving promotional emails from RivalBet Casino. I understand I can withdraw consent at any time per Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).”
Once these are set, submit the form. An email verification link arrives at the address you entered — typically within 30 seconds to 1 minute [SIMULATED][BENCHMARK-PEER]. Click the link and the account is active. You are now logged in on the cashier, but you have not deposited yet.

Benchmark footnote (applies on first mention on this page): figures reflect 2026 industry benchmarks for Kahnawà:ke-facing casinos serving Canadian players (Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Ruby Fortune, Spin Casino). RivalBet’s specific numbers are subject to verification at the cashier or in the T&C.
KYC Documents You’ll Need
Verification is not requested at signup — it is typically requested at the first withdrawal, sometimes earlier if you deposit above a certain threshold. Either way, the document set that peer CA-facing operators ask for is consistent, and it is what we expect at RivalBet under the same framework [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard][BENCHMARK-PEER].
| Document type | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Government photo ID | Canadian passport, provincial driver’s licence, provincial ID card | JPG or PDF, both sides, no glare, corners visible. Name must match Step 2 exactly. |
| Proof of address | Utility bill (electricity, gas, water, internet), bank statement, provincial-government correspondence | Dated within the last 90 days. Address must match Step 4 exactly. Mobile-phone bills are usually accepted; credit-card statements sometimes are, sometimes are not — bank statement is the safest choice. |
| Payment-method verification | Photo of the front of your debit / credit card (middle 8 digits masked), or a bank statement showing the same account you used for Interac e-Transfer | Only requested when the deposit method is a card. Interac e-Transfer usually does not trigger this because the sending account is bank-verified by design [fact:interac-etransfer-bank-to-bank]. |
| Selfie holding ID | Photo of you holding your government ID next to your face | Some operators in the peer set require this (JackpotCity does), some do not (Sports Interaction does not) — treat as possible rather than certain at RivalBet [BENCHMARK-PEER]. |
A Canadian SIN (Social Insurance Number) is not part of this set. Peer CA-facing operators under Kahnawà:ke framework do not request SIN, and neither should RivalBet [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard]. If you see a screen asking for a SIN, stop and verify you are on the real operator domain — that is a classic phishing signature. Full explainer on our KYC & AML explainer.
Have the documents ready as digital files before you start playing. The gap between “I want to withdraw” and “the funds hit my bank” shortens sharply if KYC is already cleared — the timing is covered in detail on our how withdrawals work after KYC page.
Provincial ID Matrix
Which photo IDs are typically accepted by CA-facing operators, province by province. This is a peer-benchmark matrix — no operator publishes an exhaustive province-by-province acceptance list, so we work from the documents that peer brands (SI, JackpotCity, Spin) confirm as accepted, which are the same documents the federal FINTRAC guidance names as reliable government photo ID [BENCHMARK-PEER].
| Province / territory | Age | Typical accepted photo ID | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alberta | 18 | AB driver’s licence, AB Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| British Columbia | 19 | BC driver’s licence, BC Services Card (photo version), Canadian passport | BC Services Card photo variant works at most CA-facing peers; non-photo variant does not |
| Manitoba | 18 | MB driver’s licence, MB Enhanced Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| New Brunswick | 19 | NB driver’s licence, NB Photo ID Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Newfoundland and Labrador | 19 | NL driver’s licence, NL Photo Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Nova Scotia | 19 | NS driver’s licence, NS Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Ontario | — | Not eligible — Ontario players cannot register | AGCO monopoly [fact:not-agco-registered] |
| Prince Edward Island | 19 | PEI driver’s licence, PEI Voluntary ID Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Quebec | 18 | QC driver’s licence, RAMQ health card (photo version), Canadian passport | RAMQ is widely accepted at peer brands; some operators prefer driver’s licence or passport for name-clarity reasons |
| Saskatchewan | 19 | SK driver’s licence, SK Photo ID Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Yukon | 19 | YT driver’s licence, YT General Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Northwest Territories | 19 | NT driver’s licence, NT General Identification Card, Canadian passport | Standard |
| Nunavut | 19 | NU driver’s licence, NU General Identification Card, Canadian passport | Alberta-issued documents sometimes accepted for cross-territory residents; check with operator support |
If your primary ID is a provincial health card without a photo (e.g. Ontario OHIP historically, or the non-photo QC RAMQ variant), it will not clear KYC. The rule the peer set applies is government-issued, photo-bearing, currently valid.
How Long Verification Takes
For peer CA-facing brands, KYC turnaround is typically 24 hours to 48 hours, with the median landing around 24 hours when documents are clean on first submission [fact:mockup-kyc-24h][BENCHMARK-PEER]. RivalBet is a new brand and its specific queue depth is not published — this is the peer benchmark, not a RivalBet SLA.
Benchmark footnote (KYC timing): figures reflect 2026 industry benchmarks for Kahnawà:ke-facing casinos serving Canadian players (Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Ruby Fortune, Spin Casino). RivalBet’s specific numbers are subject to verification at the cashier or in the T&C.
A representative timeline looks like this:
- T+0 — You upload the documents on the cashier’s KYC page. The status flips to “documents received.”
- T+18 h — Email from the operator: “documents received, in review.” This is a receipt confirmation, not an approval yet.
- T+24 h — Email: “verification complete.” The account is now cleared for withdrawals.
If a document is rejected (glare on the ID, address mismatch, expired document, wrong file format), the operator emails you within 6 to 12 hours with a request for a fresh upload [BENCHMARK-PEER]. Total elapsed time in the resubmission case extends to 36 to 48 hours. First withdrawal is the moment KYC status actually matters — see the withdrawal page linked above for how the two stages line up.
Currency and Payment Setup
The cashier is CAD-native. That is the pattern across the peer set — Sports Interaction, JackpotCity and Spin Casino all default to CAD, and no FX conversion is applied at deposit or withdrawal for a Canadian account [fact:bench-native-currency-cad][BENCHMARK-PEER]. You should not see a currency picker after signup.
Interac e-Transfer is the default deposit rail for Canadian players and is the one we recommend as the first method to try. It runs as a direct bank-to-bank transfer without a merchant category code, which is why Canadian banks cannot filter it under a gambling MCC the way they filter Visa or Mastercard [fact:interac-etransfer-bank-to-bank][fact:bench-visa-mc-success-canada]. The typical peer minimum deposit is C$10 for Interac e-Transfer, though some operators use a C$20 floor — RivalBet’s exact figure will surface at the cashier [fact:bench-interac-min-deposit-10][BENCHMARK-PEER].
Benchmark footnote (Interac minimum deposit): figures reflect 2026 industry benchmarks for Kahnawà:ke-facing casinos serving Canadian players (Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Ruby Fortune, Spin Casino). RivalBet’s specific numbers are subject to verification at the cashier or in the T&C.
For the full breakdown of what to expect at the cashier — deposit rails, bank success rates, e-wallet options and card blocks — see the Interac deposit setup after signup page.
If Your KYC Gets Rejected
Resubmission is not a red flag — it happens across the peer set for the same handful of reasons. If your document is bounced, the operator’s email will state a specific cause. The fix in almost every case is a fresh upload within 6 to 12 hours.
- Glare on a photo ID. The reflective surface of a driver’s licence catches flash lighting. Retake the photo in indirect daylight, no flash, all four corners visible.
- Address mismatch on proof of address. The address on the utility bill / bank statement does not match what you entered at Step 4. Correct the registration input first (support ticket), then re-upload the same document.
- Name mismatch on ID. A hyphen, a middle name, an accent or the anglicised spelling of a French name. Peer operators match strictly — you may need to update the account name field to exactly match the ID.
- Expired document. Provincial ID cards and passports have expiry dates. Even one day past expiry disqualifies the document.
- Wrong file format. Some operators accept JPG and PDF only, not HEIC (default on newer iPhones). Convert to JPG before upload.
- Statement too old. Proof-of-address must be dated within the last 90 days. An October statement uploaded in February will bounce even if the address is correct.
Nothing on this list is a permanent block. Resubmit clean documents and the queue moves — total time typically extends to 36 to 48 hours for the round-trip.

FAQ
How do I sign up at RivalBet from Canada?
Open the operator’s signup page via the CTA on this page, complete the five field-groups (email/password → geo-check + name/DOB → province + CAD currency → address + phone + PIPEDA consent → promo code RIVAL2026 + T&C + RG + optional CASL consent), then click the email verification link. Total time is around three minutes of form-fill plus 30 seconds to 1 minute for the verification email to arrive [SIMULATED][BENCHMARK-PEER]. Ontario residents cannot register [fact:not-agco-registered].
Do I need to verify my identity to open an account?
No — verification (KYC) is not required at signup. It is typically requested before your first withdrawal, sometimes earlier if you deposit above a threshold set by the operator. You can play with an unverified account; you cannot cash out from one [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard][BENCHMARK-PEER].
What documents do I need for verification?
A government-issued photo ID (Canadian passport, provincial driver’s licence, or provincial photo ID card) plus proof of address dated within the last 90 days (utility bill, bank statement, or government correspondence). A Canadian SIN is not requested. See the KYC & AML explainer linked above for the full document policy [fact:bench-kyc-docs-standard].
Can I log in from anywhere in Canada?
From any province or territory except Ontario. RivalBet is not registered with iGaming Ontario, and the operator’s compliance layer blocks Ontario at the province-selector stage [fact:not-agco-registered][fact:ontario-igaming-agco-only]. If you are travelling, you can log in from outside your home province within Canada; from abroad, expect additional identity checks under the operator’s AML procedures.
What is the minimum age to register?
19 in most Canadian provinces and territories (BC, SK, NB, NS, PEI, NL, YT, NT, NU); 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec [fact:provincial-age-limits][fact:age-19-plus-mostly]. The form enforces this at Step 2 via the date-of-birth field cross-checked against the Step 3 province selector.
